That is a pretty good place to start if you are serious about it.

You could always build one yourself. Much more satisfying researching, comparing and buying the components and then making it from scratch. Plus you will get a better understanding on how a computer works thus being able to fix it yourself if something goes wrong.

The rule of thumb is:
Never go retail if you want a serious gaming PC.

You could go for the other manufacturers mentioned above, but there will still be quite a markup on the price.

With technology changing daily, its quite hard to keep up. I found it incredibly hard to aquinte myself with the new names and notations after only a 2 year sejourn.

I'd recommend looking around ebay, theres some sellers there that will sell a rig that they made themselves, with not as much markup on it.

Also, with the new core i5/i7 (new 6 core processors) coming out, this will surely drive down the price on the 4 core processors.

I'm hoping to do a processor update some time soon, but won't be able to afford it until the price goes down a fair amount... At the moment I have a three year-old C2D 2.13GHz thingy. It's okay but I would like more quartz vibrations.

There are plenty of places. pcspecialist are pretty good, and offer finance if you're on a budget, the configuration process is pretty good as well if your not into teccy stuff: http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/

my last pc i bought a mobo/cpu bundle, case, RAM, PSU from Novatech, and nicked the old HDD,DVD from my old PC. it's pretty easy to put them together, took me about 30 mins.

Do not buy a gaming PC from retail, alienware and the like may look very good but they are massively expensive, also people I know that have bought from e-bay sellers have also paid over the odds.

I would suggest that you buy components and build it yourself or get a friend to do it for you, it is easy as long as you are carefull.

Cheers
