 Midnight launch?
Any one care enough about new-releases to go to a midnight launch?
I'm tempted to go to the MW2 release at one of the Game stores near me.
Just a topic I haven't seen discussed here before so would like some feedback.

I picked Gears of War 1 up from the local Tesco at 0001Hrs on launch day.
As for COD MW2...
It would be a good way to support the local store and spread the word of the MLG to fellow hardcore gamers (get some flyers printed!).
I'd like to know what the incentives are...lower price point, goodie bags?
Otherwise I'll probably stop in and mess with the missus....if I did go, she'd look at me all funny and tell her mates how sad I am.
...oh the joys of being a gamer.

They are yet to invent the thing that will make me leave my nice warm bed to go shopping. With the possible exception of fags if I realise I haven't got any for the morning.
This however is highly unlikely since I am the only person I know who always carries TWO spare lighters in case of malfunction or fuel issues. That's NASA quality equipment redundancy.

If I could be guaranteed the cheap donuts then I'd go to a midnight launch of My Little Pony: The Care Bear Wars.

The earliest I've managed was a 7am launch for Halo 3.
I got a full night's sleep, then scored a couple of achievements before work. Best of both!

I went to the GTA4. My Blockbusters is having one for MW2 and I'll probably cave and go to that.

I'm getting my MW2's at midnight tonight, but thats only because I pre-ordered at work and I'm there till past 10 anyway, so might as well wait for a couple of hours and be at the front of the queue for it

I buckled like a belt last night and popped in to Rugby's town center...it was about 2345hrs.
The GAME store had around 50 people in, Gamestation had around 75 folk waiting, so I thought I'd mosey on over to ASDA.
Wow! Hey had a hugh queue with about 200 eager gamers.
I did the right thing and went back to Gamestation...gotta support the local retailer!
What did suprise me was the eclectic mix of gamers wanting this game. More ladies than I'd anticipated and quite a few ...'mature' gamers too (old enough to be HUGO's dad!).
On my way out I got chattin to one of the staff.
He told me that the deals that ASDA and Sainsburys were doing were only for the first 20-50 customers. If that's the case, then I'm glad I didn't bother donating to their already swollen purses!

My Dad was born in 1917 if there was anyone that old at the midnight launch they deserve a bloody medal.
Just 50 of each format at Sainsbury's Cambridge this morning, fuck me it was scramble when the doors opened at 8:00.
